The subject of this performance is the brevity and the fragility of life. The continuous fight in which we are involved in the course of it, often against ourselves. I also speak of a struggle for survival.

The action is based on a poem by Felix Francisco Casanova, a young poet who committed suicide at nineteen years of age. It’s a very poetic work, not only by the recitation, but by the metaphors used. The element used, the water, has many readings of which the main one is the conceptualization of the human soul understood like principle of life.

Poem read:

Los relojes me quieren mal
como al hacer el amor por dinero
me venden un tiempo gastado,
una botella que sólo guarda
el perfume de su licor.
Y así, un vaso de fiebre,
un largo termómetro
como el brazo pálido de un muerto,
me hunden en los sueños sin retorno,
me arrancan el rostro como a un
derrotado boxeador
